Mumbai: The Ashirwad Prayer Centre at Vasai that talks about "Jesus Christ Healing People" is in the eye of a storm with Narendra Dabholkar's Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) filing a police case alleging that the centre is conning people by claiming miraculous cures.
The Vasaigaon police on Sunday arrested centre manager Vishnu Kudve and a staffer Vaibhav Tare. They along with the founder Dr Sebastian Martin have been booked under the Anti Superstition and Black Magic Act. Martin is suffering from a back injury and is undergoing treatment in Jupiter Hospital, Thane.
The centre claimed to have healed sickness like cancer, HIV, kidney and heart ailments through prayer. The treatment is chargeable.
