Delhi Police removes security of Robert Vadra's mother, 12 others

After media raised questions on security provided to Robert Vadra's mother Maureen, Delhi Police have withdrawn her cover, along with that of 12 other people.
Though the list hasn't been officially made public, DNA claims it includes former Delhi Police chief and present CBI Director Alok Kumar Verma, and Manishi Chandra, an officer with the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Earlier this month, media reported that six policemen had been posted at Vadra's New Friends Colony residence since 13 years. TOI reported it cost Delhi Police Rs. 1cr annually.
Vadra reacted on Facebook, slamming Times of India for "Journalism at the worst", and said, "Pls remove my security... I will take every risk…"
On May 16, security to Maureen Vadra was removed, NDTV reported.

Fact: Other names in the list of 13

According to DNA, other people on the list include Congress Spokesperson Ambika Dass, an AAP minister, an inspector Vidhya Dhar and a former Delhi chief secretary. More names include Harish Chauhan, Manjula Verma, Pinki and VN Singh.

Stats: Delhi Police deploys 10,000 personnel for private security

Till date, Delhi Police has provided security cover to 464 VVIPs. As of 2016, 42 had Z+ cover, 60 had Z, 72 had Y (threat), 154 had Y (positional), and 78 had X.
Security for 398 people was recommended by the Home Ministry, while Delhi Police headquarters recommended 66.
Out of a 77,000-strong force, 10,000 personnel had been deployed only for private security.
