She was under 18 years of age at the time of her marriage to Farman Khan in Kerala.
A discrepancy in her date of birth was found in the documents, leading to an FIR being registered at the Maheshwar police station under various sections, including kidnapping.
This so called secular marriage happened in the presence of Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty, Rajya Sabha MP A.A Rahim and CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan.
