A nursing student was found murdered on Friday at a religious place in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, the police said.
The deceased who studied nursing here, had gone to Rasnam village under the Dharur police station limits a few days ago, where her mother is a caretaker of a religious place, they said. On the night of February 13, the 20-year-old girl left her house for getting stitched clothes from a tailor in Dharur town, but failed to return.
However, on Thursday evening her body was found at the religious place in a pool of blood, the police said quoting a complaint lodged by her mother. It is being investigated how the girl managed to enter the religious place which is generally kept locked except on Sundays when prayers are held there, the police said. A probe is also on to examine if the incident had anything to do with yesterday's Valentine's Day, the police said.
We are investigating the case from all angles including possible sexual assault of the girl. Her body has been sent for medical examination and we are waiting for the report which will reveal if she was raped and murdered, a senior police officer said.
