Pastor arrested for raping a 13-year girl, told police trapped several women, children

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested a Christian pastor on the complaint that he had sexually assaulted a 13-year girl during exorcism to free her from demonic possession.

The pastor, Jose Prakash, 47, hailing from Majeri near Kozhikode was arrested for allegedly having abused a girl from Balaramapuram near Thiruvananthapuram.

According to police, Jose Prakash convinced the girl’s parents that she was the luck of the family, but unfortunately she had been possessed by an evil spirit and it should be expelled. And to free her from evil spirit, she alone was taken to a room in her house by the pastor and started prayer and performing exorcism behind the closed doors. At the end of the ritual she was raped by him.

The girl complained that she had earlier been abused by the pastor at his friend’s house at Manjeri. Her 11-year old brother is also a victim of the pastor.

The family met the pastor at a prayer meeting in Manjeri.

He has told police that several women and children had fallen in his trap.  He was very active in Vizhinjam, a coastal village near Thiruvananthapuram.

He is married with two kids.
