Scores of people staged a protest outside the office of the Karnataka Central Diocese (KCD) on Wednesday demanding action against those who allegedly sexually assaulted students of a prominent all-girls school recently.

The school is managed by the Church of South India (CSI), which comes under the KCD.

The protesters wanted to draw the attention of CSI moderator Govada Dyvasirvadam to the alleged incident. One of the protesters Anita Sharly said that girls were allegedly assaulted during the installation ceremony of the new principal and demanded the arrest of the management members.

“Although the complaint was filed weeks ago, no action has been initiated by the police. As we do not have a Bishop for Karnataka, there is nobody to monitor the management of educational institutions and prevent such untoward things,” she added.
