AMRITSAR: In an early morning operation at international border with Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down four smugglers including two Pakistani nationals.
The BSF also recovered 10 packets of heroin weighing one kilogram each and three pistols following search of the area.

An official informed that the incident took place near BSF's border outpost in Punjab's Ferozpur sector.
Sources said that the BSF's patrolling party spotted the smugglers after they crossed the international border and entered India. At the same time the Indian smugglers who were to receive the consignment had also reached near the border fence.
The troops challenged them following which the smugglers started firing at the BSF. In the encounter the ensued, the BSF shot dead two Indian and two Pakistani smugglers.
