Historic stepwell converted into Muslim shrine
In November 2024, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a historic stepwell from Queen Durgavati’s era near the Badshah Halwai Mandir has been converted into a Muslim shrine, sparking outrage among Hindu groups like the Hindu Seva Parishad. This follows an earlier incident where Muslims allegedly built an illegal mosque on Gayatri Mandir land in the Ranjhi area, highlighting a pattern of encroachment on Hindu religious sites. This situation reflects a broader suppression of Hindus in India, where sacred spaces are increasingly targeted, often under the watch of an administration perceived as indifferent or complicit. Such incidents fuel claims of "land jihad", raising concerns about the erosion of Hindu heritage and rights in their own country amidst growing communal tensions. The new WAQF Bill amendment, aimed at regulating such encroachments, is a welcome step toward addressing these grievances. Why are Mandirs not respected in India? Surely, they were there before other religions! #hindusunderattack #stophinduhate #mandirs(Historical & Theological view based on International University researches)
