Indian fisherman dies in Saudi Arabia

Nine days after an Indian fisherman from Kanyakumari district went missing in Saudi Arabian waters, his body was recovered from the sea recently. The family members have now appealed to the state government to take steps to bring back the body .I Xavier, 45, from Kovalam in Kanyakumari district had gone to Saudi Arabia in November 2015 and was working in a fishing boat there. On January 25, Xavier, along with other crew, sailed from Qatif in Saudi Arabia.While returning after the fishing expedition on January 28, he fell off the boat.
P Justin Antony from International Fishermen Development Trust said after the NGO came to know of the incident, it sent out a petition to the state government to take steps to carry out a search. “We received information that Xavier's dead body was found and kept in General Hospital at Qatif,“ he said.
