, contractors are quoting 25% in negative to the project cost, causing a savings to exchequer. Nine contractors participate in tenders.

has allowed open bidding even for small works. Allegations on Pre-fixing tenders to contractors will reduce when there is open competition. Earlier, contractors generally bid 10% extra to project cost. There’s a 35% savings now. I have posted examples of tenders now vs the past. The first tender photo (June 24) - nine contractors participated, 8 bid in negative and five bid 25% in negative, and the person who bid 25.9% in negative and got it. In the tender on right (from Feb), two contractors participate and both have quoted in +.
