 Mansi Dixit, a 19-year-old aspiring model from Rajasthan, had been living in Mumbai for a few months. One day, a photographer named Syed Muzammil invited her for a photoshoot. During the shoot, Muzammil attempted to touch Mansi inappropriately. Mansi resisted. For Muzammil, a refusal from a 'Kafir' girl was an insult. Moreover, as a Brahmin, Mansi was a prime target for 'Love Jihad'. Enraged, Muzammil struck Mansi on the head with a stool. He then strangled her and raped her corpse.

On social media, Islamic groups mocked Mansi, cast aspersions on her character, and described Muzammil as a man who had enslaved her—much like the narrative being spun in the TCS case. At the same time, 'Love Jihad' is dismissed as mere propaganda.
