“If we had only Mark’ gospel we should infer that Jesus ministry was located in Galilee with one first and final visit to Jerusalem, and that the Galileen ministry began after Baptist John was imprisoned.

4^th gospel takes a different view. Here the scene shifts backwards and forwards between Galilee and Judea during the first six chapters , from chapter 7 onwards the scene is totally laid in Judea and Jerusalem,(See Jn3:24 for Baptist John and Jesus).” –P 45, Works and Words of Jesus.

Holy Week as found in the Gospel according to St. Mark Simply put, it is the last week in Lent, starting with Christ’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem (on Palm Sunday) and finishing with the Resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday! So, without further ado, here for your reading and learning pleasure is St. Mark’s step-by-step account of Holy Week (also called the Last Week), as found in his Gospel. Sunday: the Triumphal Entry/Palm Sunday (Mark 11:1-11) Jesus enters Jerusalem on the back of a colt amid the multitude shouting “Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, hosanna!” The crowds spread their cloaks on the road for Jesus to ride over, and they wave palm branches. Monday: Jesus cleanses the Temple (Mark 11:12-19) Jesus goes from Bethany to Jerusalem, and being hungry on the way, He goes to a fig tree and finding it fruitless, curses it to wither. He enters the Temple, and enraged at finding the outer court turned from a place of worship into a bazaar, He makes a whip and drives the merchants and money-changers out. Tuesday: The priests question Jesus’ authority. (Mark 11:20-25) Peter notices that the cursed fig tree has withered. The scribes and priests question Jesus’ authority and try to trap Him in a question regarding taxes. Wednesday: The chief priests recruit Judas to betray Jesus. (Mark 14:1-11) Judas goes and tells the religious authorities in Jerusalem that he will betray Jesus to them, and they pay him the sum of 30 pieces of silver (about $15,300 today) Thursday: Maundy (Mandate) Thursday. (Mark 14:12-16) At the Passover meal, Jesus says that one of the twelve will betray him. Jesus then serves the first Communion, and is arrested in the garden of Gethsemane since Judas betrays Him with a kiss. Friday: Good Friday (Mark 15:1-21, 22-33, 34-41, 42-47) St. Mark divides Good Friday into three hour segments detailing Christ’s suffering, crucifixion, death and burial. This day is called “God's Friday” in German, and “Sorrowful Friday” in Latin. I believe that because it is the culmination of Christ’s atonement for me, it cannot be called anything BUT Good Friday. Saturday: Holy Saturday After going to such pains to state that Jesus was crucified on the “Day of Preparation, that is the day before the Sabbath,” St. Mark is strangely silent about Saturday. In the Apostle’s Creed we confess that Jesus was: “…crucified, died and was buried. He descended into Hell, on the third day he rose again from the dead…” It is worth noting that since our Lord said "It is Finished" on the Cross, His time in Hell was not one of punishment. It is most likely that St. Peter’s account found in I Peter 3:18-19 covers Saturday. Sunday: Resurrection Sunday, Easter Sunday (Mark 16:1-8) Very early Sunday morning, some women went to the tomb to anoint the body with spices for burial. They were stunned to see the stone rolled away from the tomb, and an angel sitting there proclaiming that Jesus is risen, and is no longer dead!

யோவான் 7:1 இயேசு கலிலேயாவில் நடமாடிவந்தார். யூதர்கள் அவரைக் கொல்ல வழிதேடிக் கொண்டிருந்ததால் அவர் யூதேயாவில் நடமாட விரும்பவில்லை.2 யூதர்களின் கூடார விழா அண்மையில் நிகழவிருந்தது.3 இயேசுவின் சகோதரர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி, ' நீர் இவ்விடத்தை விட்டு யூதேயா செல்லும். அப்போது உம் சீடர்கள் நீர் புரியும் செயல்களைக் காணமுடியும்.4ஏனெனில், பொது வாழ்வில் ஈடுபட விரும்பும் எவரும் மறைவாகச் செயல்புரிவதில்லை. நீர் இவற்றையெல்லாம் செய்வதால் உலகுக்கு உம்மை வெளிப்படுத்தலாமே! ' என்றனர். 10 தம் சகோதரர்கள் திருவிழாவிற்குப் போனபின் இயேசுவும் சென்றார். ஆனால் அவர் வெளிப்படையாக அன்றி மறைவாகச் சென்றார். யோவான்10:22 எருசலேமில் கோவில் அர்ப்பண விழா நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. அப்போது குளிர்காலம்.23கோவிலின் சாலமோன் மண்டபத்தில் இயேசு நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். யோவான் 12:1 பாஸ்கா விழாவுக்கு ஆறு நாள்களுக்கு முன்பு இயேசு பெத்தானியாவுக்குச் சென்றார்.

மாற்கு சுவியில் ஏசு சீடரோடு கலிலியாவில் மட்டுமே இயங்கினார். கடைசி வாரம் மட்டுமே யூதேயா வருகிறார்.


அதை மாற்கே மறுக்கிறார்.

மாற்கு14:48 இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, ' கள்வனைப் பிடிக்க வருவது போல வாள்களோடும் தடிகளோடும் என்னைக் கைது செய்ய வந்தது ஏன்?49 நான் நாள்தோறும் கோவிலில் கற்பித்துக் கொண்டு உங்களோடு இருந்தேன். நீங்கள் என்னைப் பிடிக்கவில்லையே! ஆனால் மறைநூலில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளவை நிறைவேற வேண்டும் ' என்றார்.50 அப்பொழுது சீடர் அனைவரும் அவரை விட்டுவிட்டுத் தப்பி ஓடினர்.51 இளைஞர் ஒருவர் தம் வெறும் உடம்பின் மீது ஒரு நார்ப்பட்டுத் துணியைப் போர்த்திக் கொண்டு அவர் பின்னே சென்றார்; அவரைப் பிடித்தார்கள்.52 ஆனால் அவர் துணியை விட்டு விட்டு ஆடையின்றித் தப்பி ஓடினார்.

ஏசு பல நாட்கள் யூத தேவாலயத்தில் நான் பிரசங்கம் செய்தேன் என்றால் மாற்குவிற்கு உண்மை தெரியும் வேண்டுமென்றே பொய்யாய் கதையை மாற்றி புனைந்துள்ளார்.
