A 1,000-year-old Shiva temple (Preah Vihear, a UNESCO World Heritage site) has been caught in the crossfire of Cambodia–Thailand tensions. The temple has suffered severe damage, with some parts beyond recognition and structures at risk of collapse. The site is now closed, surrounded by landmine warnings and debris from bombardment.
