1. Bishop Caldwell: The Original Doctrinal Architect
* 1838–1891: Caldwell spent fifty years in Idaiyangudi (Tirunelveli) systematically. Had the same brief as Macauliffe had for Sikhs. To break apart the populace.
* Canonised by the post-colonial Church: a statue erected in 1967 on Marina Beach by the Church of South India—the same year the DMK came to power.
* 1850s-1920s: Ideological Groundwork.
– coining the word “Dravidian” to separate Tamils from “Aryan Brahmins”;
– building schools, churches and medical dispensaries which doubled as intelligence nodes recording caste, clan and kinship data so as to work on them;
– training Tamil-speaking missionaries and “visiting scholars” who shipped village-level ethnography back to London and, after 1947, to Washington.
2. Uncle's take over: The micro-ecosystem the CIA built inside Bishop Caldwell’s century-old lattice
* 1958-1963: CIA established "Asia Foundation" under the cover of “Rural Health Fellowship” with a budget of then US $ 1.2 million.
The task: Seed six model medical sub-centres in Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Nilgiris. Each centre had two parallel ledgers: one public (WHO template), and one covert epidemiological survey mapping caste & kinship for Project DRAVID war-game.
* 1964-1969: Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore and Rockefeller Foundation. US grants US $ 2.7 million (matched by Rockefeller Foundation). Mission: “Visiting faculty” slot (6-month rotations) for Stanford & MIT anthropologists who posed as anaesthesiology instructors, but ran village-level behavioural experiments on anti-Hindi sentiment. Micro-film rolls of palm-leaf genealogies were couriered to CIA station New Delhi via diplomatic pouch.
* Palm-Leaf Micro-film 1969 | "Operation SILVER-REEL"
Bell & Howell camera (ser. 117-984) bought with Ford money; film rolls of palm-leaf genealogies hand-carried to U.S. Consulate in diplomatic pouch—proven (Loyola bursar minutes).
Next link: identical micro-film is fed into MIT-CIS “DRAVID-III” war-game, that modelled caste-violence thresholds.
* 1970-1976: Church of South India (CSI) – Diocese of Madras. US $ 850 k / yr channelled through Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD).
* “Youth Leadership Camps” in Kodaikanal & Yercaud was a recruitment drive for future agents selected 120 college graduates/yr for MSW scholarships in U.S.
* Alumni returned as “district social organisers” whose quarterly reports (population, land-ownership, church attendance) were routed to USAID “monitoring cell” staffed by two CIA officers.
* 1977-1984: "Operation FISHING-FLY" World Vision India – Madurai Region. Amount provided: US $ 1.1 million (this was after Indira Gandhi was deposed).
* Fisher-folk rehabilitation after 1977 cyclone doubled as coastal intelligence grid—boat registration logs were shared nightly with U.S. Naval Attaché in Colombo.
WV boat-registration ledgers night-couriered to U.S. Naval Attaché, Colombo—allegation only, no log sheet surfaced.
What is proven: WV annual report 1978 lists registration of 1,430 fishing vessels; U.S. Navy daily intelligence summary 1979 suddenly carries accurate counts of “Tamil fishing dhows south of 8° N”—timing matches, paper trail absent.
This became the database for creating and tracking LTTE supply boats and logistics, independent of India.
* Money was sourced to proselytisers to start converting the Fisher folks, using the cyclone as a garb.
1976 declassified cable summarises the arc:
“The 150-year Caldwell infrastructure gives us ready-made human terrain maps; we only have to convert charity into currency and faithful into assets.”
3. Establishment of Loyola College, Chennai – Jesuit talent-pipeline & data-harvester
* Front offices: Loyola Institute of Social Sciences (1960) & Loyola Centre for South Indian Studies (1964).
* Funding artery: US $ 1.3 million (1962-1977) via Ford Foundation → Asia Foundation → Loyola endowment (ledger line: “comparative religion & folklore”).
Operational output
~ “Caste & Clan Registers” – sociology students photographed 1,800 village festivals, annotated kinship diagrams, later digitised at CIA’s McLean campus for agent-recruitment matrices.
~ “Tamil Folklore Translation Project” (1967-1974) – undergraduates transcribed 3,400 folk ballads; coded versions were inserted into Radio Ceylon Tamil service to mock DMK ultra-nationalism without overt U.S. signature.
~ “Guest-faculty” cover – Sheldon Pollock (Columbia) & Wendy Doniger (Chicago) taught “Myth & Ritual” seminars; their field notebooks (de-classified 2009) contain marginalia on local factional leaders with hand-drawn stars next to names later appearing in CIA contact lists.
4. Wendy Doniger, Sheldon Pollock, Audrey Truschke – roles in the cultural subversion matrix
a. Sheldon Pollock Madras Sanskrit College (summer 1971) Translated & annotated Sangam poetry; exploit Tamil-Hindi cleavage. A Jew
b. Wendy Doniger: Loyola College seminars (1967-68): Re-framed Hindu mythology as erotic, violent, irrational. A narrative later weaponised to denigrate Hinduism. dilute nationalist legitimacy. A Jew
c. Audrey Truschke: Continued the same narrative line—portraying Aurangzeb as “moderniser” and Hindu kings as “oppressors”—a discourse amplified by U.S. think-tanks that fund her digital outreach to English-speaking Indian millennials, keeping the cultural fault-line alive. Married to. Christian Zionist who is an Evangelist working across South India.
Beyond these, there are the following facts of US involvement:
1. 1957-59 – “Kerala Action” | "Operation RED-EARTH"
* CIA station New Delhi funnelled money through Congress Party functionaries and INTUC labour unions to destabilise the elected CPI ministry;
* Doc-level source: UK FCO file FO 371/144523, para 7 (released 2022, quoted Indian Express 14 Aug 2025).
Cable-proof: State Dept 54-MADRAS-873 shows $22 k yr⁻¹ paid to Eyre & Spottiswoode (Madras) Ltd, a Church of South India (CSI) print-shop. Function: to insert political editorials into parish newsletters.
Result: CPI ministry dismissed July 1959 under President’s Rule; CIA cable boasts “Kerala shows Congress can fight Reds if bank-rolled”. Kerala President’s Rule imposed July 1959.
2. 1959-60 – Asia Foundation seed-grant to Swatantra Party incubators
* US $128K listed as “Southern India political research & leadership seminars”; grantee “Madras State Farmers’ Forum” later folded into Swatantra Party.
* Doc-level source: Asia Foundation ledger reproduced in Ramparts, Feb 1967, p. 16; Church Committee Bk. VI, p. 211.
2 b. Madras 1962 | "Operation HAT-TRICK"
Nuclear-powered sensor lost in Himalayas to spy on Chinese missiles; plutonium pack still unaccounted for.
South-India angle: Device flown out of Madras Air-Force Station on Air America C-46 (manifest B-918, 15 Dec 1962) consignee: CSI Bishop’s House, George Town. Cover cargo was cyclone relief blankets. (Remember, US is delivering 'Flood Relief' in Pakistan now, with its C17s flying in and out)
3. 1960-63 – Embassy-scale political-action kitty (all-India, inc. Madras)
* Galbraith cable warns “several million USD” earmarked for “pro-Western politicians” and “anti-communist newspapers”.
* Doc-level source: State Dept cable 061261Z May 1961, NARA 104-10120-10061 (JFK release 2022).
4. 1962-67 – CMC Vellore Asia Foundation grant
* Ledger shows US 1.186 M in three tranches: biggest line item “Rural Health Fellowship–TamilNadu”(US 342 k); hardware “Portable X-ray – Nilgiris Survey” (US $ 49 k). This was used as a mobile intelligence gathering unit, in the name of providing rural X-ray. India made the mistake of believing that those who had offered to help, actually wanted to help!
* Doc-level source: NARA RG 59, Box 3247, item 4 (declassified 2002).
5. 1963-65 – MIT-CIS “DRAVID-III” caste-matrix data-set
* MIT Center for International Studies classified appendix describes source tape built from “village caste-matrices from CMC, Madras Christian College & Loyola”. This was to work out the Dravidanadu models in study in US academics.
* Doc-level source: MIT-CIS Working Paper 72-4, p. 17 (Mandatory Review release 2009).
6. 1965-71 – Alleged “Operation NILE-BLUE” psy-op comic books
* Claim: CIA cell in USIS library, Mount Road, printed Tamil comics ridiculing “Aryan domination”.
7. 1968-73 – “Project KAVERI” hydrographic-survey
* Claim: USAID flood-relief cover to map hydrographic information. This information was then used by the US 7th fleet.
8. 1969 – Loyola micro-film camera shipped in diplomatic pouch
* Bursar minutes record Ford sub-grant 68-73-014 paid for Bell & Howell camera (ser. 117-984); film rolls “hand-carried to US Consulate in diplomatic pouch”.
* Source: Loyola College Bursar Minutes, 14 Aug 1969 (digitised 2017).
9. Kodaikanal & Yercaud 1970-76 | "Operation SHEPHERD"
CSI youth camps 120 graduates yearly given U.S. MSW scholarships; returnees filed quarterly “population, land-ownership, church attendance” cards routed through USAID cell staffed by two CIA officers (Church Committee admits officers existed, but no cards located).
Hard fact: CSI Synod minutes 1972 & 1974 advertise the camps; USAID audit 1976 shows $850 K per year channelled via Episcopal Relief & Development.
10. 1972-75 – Alleged St Thomas Mount SIGINT tower
* Claim: VHF intercept site disguised as AIR relay.
11. 1976-present – Alleged “Caldwell Memorial Trust” (Cayman, US $ 11 M)
* Claim: off-shore pool for “Dravidian cultural revival”.
11. 1984-87 – Alleged Tamil-Eelam FM relay inside Kodambakkam CSI church
* Claim: low-power transmitter beamed LTTE news to northern Sri Lanka.
12. 1990-2005 – CSIS warnings on church conduit money to LTTE fronts
* Core fact: Canadian & Australian Tamil organisations listed as LTTE fund-raisers. Then routed to TN
Realise, all these are pre-2000 data. Since 2000 there has been an unprecedented amount of money funneled in for conversion and degradation of the Indian identity. Pre-2000, US academics were visiting India and collecting data to model 'Dravidanadu'.
ALL NGO activities. ALL Aid efforts were a means to infiltrate by the US. But US alone? No. Israel, in the form of Christian Zionism, is what is acting on South India, as well as NE (should be covered separately)
